SILA ABU DHABI INFO !!!

WHO
Sila Abu Dhabi is one of Sila Connection’s student-led conferences. It aims at creating an arena in which like-minded individuals have the opportunity to consult collaboratively to explore local issues and to instigate change. Sila Abu Dhabi will be inviting all the major universities in the emirate of Abu Dhabi to partake in this exciting endeavor. If you would like to participate as a delegate from your university, please find the application here

HOW
As the delegates collaborate with their local peers to explore local issues, they will be given the opportunity to turn their ideas into sustainable local projects, with the support and guidance of Sila Connection’s network of professionals. Over the two-day period, micro-groups consisting of students from different universities will be working together to develop viable solutions pertaining to Water, Energy or Recycling & Waste. Upon final presentation of each group’s project prospect, a jury will decide the best project prospect and will reward the group a grant to realize their project.

ULTIMATE GOAL
We aspire to become a worldwide chain of conferences that connect local university students and encourage them to develop sustainable and viable solutions to current issues in their local communities, from the grass root level.

The first Sila conference will be held in Abu Dhabi on November 23-24, 2012, at New York University Abu Dhabi’s Downtown Campus.
