Dress code:

Sports clothing that you don’t mind if it gets wet!

Please come prepared for the training session as there are limited changing room and shower facilities. Staff will be able to direct you to the facilities you should you require these facilities.
Toilets and wash basins are located next to the Plaza Bar.
There are fresh water shower rinsers located on the beach where the training takes place.
 PLEASE NOTE:

All participants must read and sign the disclaimer given to them by the instructor before they can start training
All participants must wear a personal flotation device when in the boats
All equipment will be provided by the organizer – boat, paddles and personal flotation device
Teams cannot participate in the training session if the team registration fee has not been received (unless prior approval has been received from Siren Events)
Refreshments will be available for purchase including a selection of hot and cold beverages and snacks (sandwiches, pastries, fruit, etc.)

Capoeira and Acrobatic Yoga


Dear students,

During two weeks you will have the opportunity to  test the new courses: Capoeira and Acrobatic Yoga. The first part (1h) will be Capoeira, followed by  Acrobatic Yoga (1h).

·         Sunday , October the 7th ,  between 5:00 to 7:00 pm. To participate you only need  to be register in sports. If not, it will impossible to practice.
·         Second test will be, October the 16th (time need to be confirm but probably 6:00 to 8:00  pm).

After this two tests, you will  choose one or both. We hope, you will like this amazing experience.

Pendant deux semaines vous pourrez tester le nouveau cours de “Capoeira et de Yoga Acrobatique” (une heure de capoeira puis une heure de Yoga Acrobatique).

·         Dimanche prochain, le 7 octobre  entre 17 et 19h. Pour participer, vous devez juste être inscrit au sport.
·         Le second cours aura lieu le 16 octobre , horaires  à confirmer (probablement entre 18h et 20h).

Vous pourrez ensuite choisir  votre  cours, après cette nouvelle expérience.

Dragon Boat

Chers Etudiants,
La course de Dragon Boat (embarcation de 20 places) aura lieu le Vendredi 5 Octobre au Shangri-La Hotel.
Vous êtes cordialement invités à vous y inscrire au Bureau des Sports.  Vous pourrez aussi venir en spectateur pour profiter d’une belle journée en bord de mer.

Profitez des deux séances d’entrainement / Initiation au Dragon Boat pour mieux vous préparer à la course du 5 octobre.
Ces deux séances auront lieu le Lundi 1er Octobre et Mardi 2 Octobre de 15 heure  à 17 heure, sur la plage en face de Marina Mall à côté de Heritage Village.

Ce sera une bonne opportunité pour former /ajuster notre équipe de Dragon Boat engagée aux prochains Abu Dhabi Corporate Games.

Dear Students,
The Dragon Boat race (20 rowers boats) is scheduled on Friday, October 5th at Shangri-La Hotel.
You can now register (at the Sports Department) to participate in the race.  You can also enjoy a day out on the beach and cheer for our team as a spectator.

Also, take advantage of the two Dragon Boat training / discovery sessions to better prepare for the actual race on the 5th of October.
These two sessions will be on Monday October 1st and Tuesday October 2nd, from 3 to 5pm on the beach opposite Marina Mall next to Heritage Village.

This event will be a great opportunity to form /adjust our Dragon Boat team registered in the upcoming Abu Dhabi Corporate Games.

The Student Counsel / Le conseil d'étudiant

Dear Classmates,

The Student Counsel is in need for four new members. The Student Counsel is a new group that was created only last year, they have not been able to make huge adjustments or events because they were created at the end of the academic year of 2012 -2013. This year, however, they are hoping to change few things regarding "on campus student life" and "organized new, cool and interesting off/on campus events".
 This year, they will not have elections since the student counsel has already been elected. They will nominate who they prefer according to their preferences.

Working Hours:
They schedule meetings freely depending on each members academic schedule, but keep in mind they have to meet at least once a week.


Advise:
Consider it a job interview and I think you'll be fine

Information:
Looking for someone who is - dedicated - outspoken - organized and - motivated. 
Interviews will take place on Sunday 30 of September 2012 at 12:30pm in class room 5.104

Le conseil d'étudiant a besoin de quatre nouveaux membres. Le conseil des élèves est un nouveau groupe qui a été créé l'année dernière, ils n'ont pas été en mesure de faire des ajustements ou des événements énormes, car ils ont été créés à la fin de l'année scolaire 2012 -2013. Cette année, toutefois, ils espèrent changer les choses concernant "la vie étudiante du campus" et "organisé nouveau, cool et intéressant  événements sur le campus" (sous / hors)


Cette année, ils n'auront pas des élections depuis que le conseil d'étudiant a déjà été élu. Ils nommeront qui ils préfèrent en fonction de leurs préférences.

Heures de travail:
Ils organisent des réunions librement en fonction de chaque calendrier académique de chaque membres, mais gardez à l'esprit qu'ils doivent se réunir au moins une fois par semaine.

GIRLS FOOTBALL


The Girls Soccer Team need more players! 


Come and join, TRY OUTS are being held on Sundays and Mondays, we are looking for girls who love/ like to play, you don’t have to be a Pro, the most important thing for us is to have fun. However we do get serious during  tournaments which we will be playing against other Universities such as NYUAD during our academic year (2012-2013). 

Sunday 18:30 – 20:00   Zayed Sports City (a bus will be provided)
Monday 19:00 – 20:30  Campus

Venez et essayer un entrainement avec nous qui auront lieu le dimanche et le lendi. Nous somme à  la recherche pour trouves des filles qui aiment jouer du foot, vous n'avez pas besoin d'être un Pro. la chose plus importante pour nous est d'avoir du plaisir. Cependant, nous prendre sérieux lors de tournois que nous allons jouer contre d'autre universités comme NYUAD au cours de notre année universitaire (2012-2013).

STUDENT VOLUNTEER




We are inviting students of PSUAD to volunteer at this year’s Abu Dhabi Art which takes place on the 7th – 10th November 2012 at Manarat Al Saadiyat on Saadiyat Island.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to assist in various areas of the fair such as with tours, workshops and other public programmes. We will do our best to accommodate them in their preferred areas of interest, however, this cannot always be guaranteed due to high demand and to the times and availability of the volunteer.

Once Abu Dhabi Art has ended, all volunteers will be awarded with a certificate of participation and a gift of appreciation.


Registration:
Volunteers can register via email by filling out the two forms attached and returning to sbinhoraiz@tdic.ae along with their CVs. Alternatively those who wish to hand their forms to me in person can do so at Manarat Al Saadiyat on Monday 24th September between 12pm and 2pm.



Important Dates:


Volunteer registration will close on Monday October 8th
Volunteer training sessions will take place in mid October (Date to be confirmed)
Abu Dhabi Art 2012 will take place from November 7th – November 10th

SPORTS NOTICE !!! NEW RULES AND REGULATIONS

 Chers étudiants sportifs,
Le département des sports accepte les inscriptions pour le sport en ‘loisir’, et/ou en ‘Option’ pour l’année académique 2012-2013.
Vous êtes donc priés de passer une visite médicale obligatoire auprès du docteur présent sur le campus. Médecin travaille  le Lundi de 10h
à 13 heures et le mercredi de midi à 15 heures.

Après avoir passé la visite médicale, il faut compléter le formulaire en y inscrivant le choix des sports avec jour et date (ex : Choix no1 : Volleyball en Option le Lundi de 18h30 à 20h30, Choix no2 : Escalade en loisir le Dimanche de 20h30 à 22h30, Choix no3 : etc..) et y adjoindre 2 photos récentes.
Pour plus d’information sur les Sports et Activités proposés, sur le calendrier et les horaires des cours de sports, évènements, tournois et compétitions,
les détails seront affichés sur un autre poste.

Le formulaire d’inscription peut être déposé à 3 endroits :
- au Stand d’Information des sports dans la Cafeteria (de midi à 14 heures tous les jours)
- le Bureau des Sports
-  à la réception du Gymnase/Bâtiment des Sports.


Les cours débutent les 23/09/2012.
Pour l’option :
L’inscription au semestre 1 se fera jusqu’au 18/10/2012.
L’inscription au semestre 2 se fera jusqu’au 21/02/2013.

Vous trouverez toutes les informations concernant les compétitions, les horaires des cours , les horaires pour les bus, les évènements du mois, les absences, les modifications,  au building des sports, et au secrétariat des sports.
 
Important :
Par souci d’hygiène, les étudiants sont priés d’avoir une serviette de toilette lors de la présence en salle de Musculation (‘Gym’).
Les utilisateurs seront priés de garder les équipements propres et secs à tout moment en disposant la serviette sur les surfaces de contact des machines ou bancs utilisés.
Les personnes n’ayant pas de serviette ne seront pas acceptées en Salle de Musculation.
Lors de votre inscription, nous vous en remettrons une  en cadeau.

·         Le 5 octobre 2012 Dragon Boat Race inscription au bureau des sports « obligatoire » ; pour les entrainements suivre les informations au building des sports.
·         A confirmer « Challenge de ski » à Ski Dubaï.le 19 octobre  2012.

Dear sporty students,
The Sports Department is accepting registrations for Sports as a ‘Leisure’ and/or ‘Option’ for the academic year of 2012-2013. 
Therefore, you are requested to pass a mandatory medical check-up performed by the on-campus doctor. Doctor is in Monday 10am to 1pm & Wednesday noon to 3pm

After completion of the mandatory medical check-up, you are requested to fill in the registration form  with your choice of sport and the date and time for each (ex: Choice no1:  Volleyball as an Option on Monday from 6h30 to 8h30pm, Choice no2: Rock-Climbing as a Leisure on Sunday from 8h30 to 10h30pm, Choice no3: Gym as a Leisure), and to add 2 recent pictures.
For more information on the different Sports and Activities, on the timings and schedule of events, tournaments and competitions, the details will be posted on another post.

The sports registration form can be turned in at 3 different locations:
- The Sports Department office (in the administration building)
- The reception of the Sports Building
- Or at the Sports Information stand in the Cafeteria (from noon to 2pm)

The sport courses will start on Sunday 23/09/2012.
Sports registration will be possible until 18/10/2012 for Semester 1.
Sports registration will be possible until 21/02/2013 for Semester 2.

You will find all the information regarding competitions, courses schedule and timings, schedule for buses and transportation, planned events, absences, modifications, etc. at the Sports Building and at the Sports Department’s office.

Important:
For the purpose of personal hygiene, all gym and weightlifting users are required to use towels while using the machines or benches.
Kindly place the towel on the contact surface of the machine (or bench) in order to keep it clean and dry during use.
Users without a towel will not be accepted in the gym/weightlifting room.
When you register, we will give you one as a gift.
