If you fail first semester, you can do the "retrapage" which you should not fail to enter second year.
If you fail second semester you are allowed to move to on to second year with these conditions. Passing the first semester or the retrapage.
You will be allowed to redo your first years second semester during your second year, with the new first year students.
In short if you pass first semester be it now or in the retrapage you will move on to second year.
